For the first ever Levi’s® Designer Feature at Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week 2025 (KLFW 2025) on August 10, we handed the reins to 13 emerging designers, each with a story to tell and a fresh take on denim. From dramatic silhouettes to edgy streetwear, they reimagined Levi’s® classics into 26 stunning masterpieces on the runway—stitched with attitude, heritage and purpose.

MEET THE DESIGNERS
These 13 up-and-coming designers took Levi’s® denim to the next level and made it their own.
AKUDESIGN
Brothers Amiel and Afiq Anuar of streetwear label Akudesign present ‘Concrete Skin’. Rough textures, raw cuts and circular paint details highlight the self-expression and imperfection that define street culture.
“Everyone has their own second ‘skin’—their unique style that sets them apart and makes them who they are.”
ANDREW CHARLES
Inspired by Beyoncé in Levi’s, Indonesian designer Andrew Charles’s denim creations exude confidence and star-like presence—just like the singer herself.
“It was sexy, structured denim with bold silhouettes.”
DANIEL ONG
Daniel Ong of 99%ANGEL—a label born from “late night sketches, daydreams and a little mischief”—finds a new kind of beauty in the collision of rough and soft.
“Reimagining denim meant letting it fall in love through delicate lace, gentle textures, and a softness not often seen in something so rugged.”
FAIRUZ RAMDAN
Award-winning creative director Fairuz Ramdan brings his signature heritage-meets-sportswear touch, retooling iconic Levi’s® fits for a new era of motion.
“It’s utility redefined for the streets and the sidelines.”
HASZ HISHAAM
With roots in Malaysian heritage and couture, Hasz Hisham was inspired by the quiet power of blooming flowers, featuring sculpted corsetry and cascading layers.
“This collection merges the raw soul of Levi’s® with the grace of couture. Every detail commands attention.”
MASYADI MANSOOR
Inspired by the idea of transformation through wear and time, Masyadi Mansoor of streetwear label MSYD brings emotional depth to his creations, highlighting denim not just as clothing, but a trusty companion.
“Denim carries memories, ages with you, and becomes second skin.”
MEI XUAN
Mei Xuan blends fashion with art, culture and identity. The designer celebrates our workwear legacy by elevating core fits with elegance, form and function.
“The pieces reinterpret Levi’s® historical role not just as a symbol of style, but as a practical uniform of the everyday worker.”
NATASHA KHAN
Natasha Khan is a creative director and educator whose work reclaims cultural identity through sustainability, heritage silhouettes, and upcycled craft.
“I reimagined Levi's® through the lens of Anak Malaya—where each stitch holds a story, and every fade is a memory reclaimed.”
OSCAR LEE (OUTDWELL)
As the founder of OUTDWELL—a streetwear label rooted in hip hop culture—Oscar Lee’s creations explore the push-pull between tradition and rebellion; deconstructing Levi’s® staples with bold, street-ready energy.
“We wanted to honor Levi’s® heritage while pushing the boundaries through OUTDWELL’s lens of deconstruction and streetwear.”
RUSSELL CHIN
Blending tradition with surrealism, Russell Chin’s creations fuse hand-drawn graphics, textiles, and dreamlike shapes for a poetic yet playful aesthetic. Through dye baths and batik, Russell’s designs transformed structure into softness.
“Reimagine means being true to our background, culture, and integrating these into our designs.”
SALAHUDDIN HILMI
Known for fusing heritage with modern aesthetics, Salahuddin Hilmi reinterprets denim with an edgy, avant-garde sensibility through raw textures, layered techniques and experimental silhouettes.
“The collection doesn’t just wear history—it reshapes it with attitude, edge and artistry.”
SOOCHIENYEOL
Inspired by American western wear and vintage workwear, SOOCHIENYEOL’s knack for blending streetwear with storytelling shines through cowboy silhouettes, hand-embroidered denim, and modern craftsmanship.
“It merges heritage, artistry and modern menswear.”
ZAFF BEN JIBBY
Part of Fashion Crossover London’s 2022 Global Talents, Zaff Jibby pushed Levi’s® fitted silhouettes into looser, oversized forms for this collection; creating movement and freedom for any body, gender or character.
“These looks were inspired by the desperation for fluidity in clothing.”
