Rendy Pandugo and Daiyan Trisha have found their personalities through music. It's a lesson that we all can take with us: always stay true to yourself when forging your path.
Malaysian singer-songwriter Daiyan Trisha started out posting covers and originals on YouTube at age 16.
After performing small gigs around town, in 2013 Daiyan caught the attention of Astro executives, who offered her a deal to not just write the theme song for Astro Ceria's upcoming telemovie, Dee, but to also star as the titular character. Her resulting first single, Kerana Kau, became an instant hit, while her acting debut paved the way for more film and television roles.
Today, Daiyan is a rising star in the Malaysian music scene. After releasing three singles in Bahasa Malaysia, Daiyan released her first ever English single in 2016, Stargazing, followed by Boy in My Dream last February.
Born in Medan, North Sumatera, Rendy Pandugo experienced false starts and dashed hopes before finally making his mark on Indonesian music.
When he was younger, Rendy's restlessness saw him choosing a musician's life on the street and in local bands over studying in music school. Small flourishes of success came his way, only to sputter. With little to his name, Rendy was forced to dig deep.
Through resilience and perseverance, his music eventually found a much wider following online. Thanks to his hard work, Rendy is now signed to a major label, making his dream to share his music with the world come true.
